Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor
Finding a counselor who is the right fit for you can be a daunting task! Let me tell you a little about
myself so you can decide if you’d like to collaborate with me in reaching your personal goals.
First, my credentials: I’m a graduate of Wheaton College with a MA in Clinical Psychology. I’m a Licensed
Professional Counselor in Wisconsin, a National Board Certified Counselor, and a member of the
American Counseling Association.
I enjoy using Positive Psychology and a strength-based, holistic approach that focuses on getting past
mere symptom management to achieve true wellness. I have over twenty years of experience in the
mental health field, working with children, adolescents, families, and adults of all ages both in
outpatient and school/college settings.
While my counseling style is at its heart Person-Centered, I also make use of Cognitive-Behavioral
therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT),
and Solution-Focused training to find a blend that is right for each client I serve. I like to
incorporate creativity in session, using art, music, personality theory, and mindfulness strategies to
approach our work together through a multi-dimensional lens.
My areas of interest and specialty include:
- Coping with anxiety and stress
- Self-care, wellness, and self-compassion
- Healing through grief and loss
- Managing depression and other mood disorders
- Adjustment issues and transitions in life
- Exploring identity and existential/spiritual wellness
- Conflict resolution and communication styles in relationships
