Jackie graduated from Alverno College where she received her Masters Degree in Community Psychology. She has ten plus years’ experience in the mental health field. She uses a humanistic approach to support her clients to develop or strengthen their identity to lead their own life journey. Jackie is a trans-racial (Filipino) international adoptee who believes the therapeutic relationship is a collaboration. Both client and therapist bring their inner experiences, individual skill set, and knowledge to work towards identified goals. She uses humor, playfulness, and little irreverence to help her clients get comfortable in the inevitable uncomfortable.
Jackie is formally trained in Comprehensive DBT, CBT, ERP, Trauma and Mindfulness. She also uses components from art and play therapy and IFS. She has experience working with early-adolescents, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and family therapy. With Jackie’s personal journey as an adoptee and knowledge from completing the Training for Adoption Competency with Center for Adoption, Support and Education (C.A.S.E.). She has a special interest in providing services to individuals affected by foster care and adoption issues. Her other areas of focus include:
